Another year, another election

Although I blog occasionally on the Yahoo Developer Network blog, it looks like I only blog on my own personal site when I'm running for OpenID Board. It's that time of year, and I'm running for OpenID Board again.

Over the past year, I've contributed quite a bit to OpenID, specifically:

• OpenID User Interface Extension
• OpenID OAuth Hybrid Extension
• OAuth 1.0A
• Hosted the OpenID Summit at Yahoo
  
• Supported Open Government
• And I'm a frequent contributor to the OpenID public mailing lists, and I'm always available at public events including the Internet Identity Workshop

I enjoy working on OpenID, and I'd appreciate the community's support for my re-election to the OpenID Board.

OpenID is the foundation for distributed identity, and I'm proud to be working with the OpenID community, and also behind the scenes at Yahoo, to make the vision of OpenID a reality. Unlike previous attempts at centralized internet identity, OpenID is not owned or controlled by anyone, but is developed transparently and in the Open.

I'm OpenID's #1 fan at Yahoo, and I'm running for an OpenID Foundation community board seat. Having a board seat will help give me more credibility when I pitch OpenID to Yahoo's engineers and decision makers. I personally believe that users own their data, and should be empowered to grant informed consent to share their data. Vote for me, and I'll be happy to be the OpenID Community's represenative inside Yahoo.

I've had El Toro for a few months, and I still love her. I used to think that single speed bikes were silly, until I actually tried one on a whim at the bike shop. Single speeds are so much fun, I never want to have to shift gears again!
